Quote of the day
"Rule number 2,367B for food-and-drink safety: Don't drink anything that comes in a hand-tied plastic bag."
Tyler Cowen, An Economist Gets Lunch: New Rules For Everyday Foodies
(after finding that, in a restaurant in Nicaragua, the soda he didn't finish was poured into a plastic bag for resale)

My name is Angelika Pawlitschek. It is unbelievable, but I knew your parents in Adana. My husband Ernst was a colleague of Bernhard. We left Adana in Sept. 1964 and moved to Wheelus AFB in Libya. Once we took a boat trip to an Island of the coast near Silifke with the Fiederer family and Erhan. In 1967 we met Karin briefly at Frankfurt Airport when we were on our way back to Libya with our firstborn son. Hope Karin remembers us. Please give our regards to your mother. Since 1987 we live in Australia.
You probably knew ME, too, then, although I was pretty small.
You could get in touch with her on Facebook, I'll let her know you commented my blog!
Of course I remember you from that time in Adana, but I must say you look completely different today. Would be nice to hear from your Mum. Regards Angelika
